Technology blog BGR has leaked the image allegedly showing the first Amazon smartphone. The leaked image shows a traditional design of the Amazon smartphone, which so far found across all the touchscreen smartphones. There are curve edges and decent-sized bezels.

The leaked image hints that the rumoured Amazon Kindle smartphone would have a mix-and-match design of Samsung Galaxy series smartphones and Apple iPhone as the image shows a rectangular home button and glossy rear of the smartphone. The smartphone, with jet black color, seemingly have soft-touch sides to provide comfort while holding the smartphone for long hours.

While the rear side shows a primary camera and a secondary camera is available on the front, the source said that the smartphone will originally have six camera sensors to enable a unique 3D interface and gesture controls. Though the smartphone is said to have Android operating system on the software front, it would have deep customisations similar to the Kindle Fire tablets.

On the specifications side, the source said that the first Amazon Kindle smartphone will have a 4.7-inch display with 720p HD resolution, a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and 2GB of RAM. This suggests that the smartphone would come under mid-range price bracket but some tweaks on the software side would increase the final pricing.

As the leaked image was created for internal use by graphic designers at Amazon, its authenticity is yet to be verified. The source said that the smartphone will be unveiled sometime in late spring or early summer so the official announcement is not far away.
