Microsoft updates Office for iPad | Kindle Techno - iPhone, Apple ...

Microsoft today issued the first update to Office for iPad, that provides printing support to all three apps. You can download the updated version now directly from Apple’s App Store.

First and foremost, it enables you to send MSWord documents, XL spreadsheets, and Ppt presentations to an AirPrint printer. This was perhaps one of the biggest demands from Office for iPad users, so it’s good to see the feature included in the first update (just over a month after initial release).

Word for iPad gives you the option to print a document with or without markup. Excel meanwhile allows you the option to print a selected range, only a single worksheet, or an entire spreadsheet. All three apps enable selecting the pages or slides you want to print.

Next, Excel’s Autofit feature now allows you to adjust the width of multiple rows or the height of multiple columns at the same time. With just a few taps, but you’ll be able to make sure your spreadsheet appears more uniform and that no content is hidden.

Finally, SmartGuides in PowerPoint now let you align pictures, shapes, and textboxes as you shuffle them around on a slide. You can do that on a touchscreen, that’s a quite an important feature for a productivity app.

Additionally this update also includes the usual “bug fixes and stability improvements.”
