Forraging
Yesterday I saw what I thought was a discarded football until I twigged that it was a puff ball. I've wanted to find one for years ever since I was a kid and there were mature ones in the brook field near home. I read that they were edible, but hadn't found one that I could stop to pick until yesterday.
I was full of the British trepidation over all things wild fungal, but after some googling, decided to eat some. The rest of the family looked on appalled.
I fried two slices and it was delicious, but not so tasty as mushrooms.
I hake put the rest in a mousaka instead of aubergine, but that's tomorrow night's supper. I didn't dare leave it any longer in case it went off..
