Judith and the Man from Schindlers List
Monday, November 11, 1:00 pm
Coolidge Corner Theatre
290 Harvard Street, Brookline
Director: Martin Buchholz
Germany 2011, 45 min
In German with English subtitles
This poignant documentary shows the close, unexpected friendship of a 12-year-old German violinist, who wishes to know the story behind the music in Schindler’s List, and an 81-year-old Holocaust survivor, who is alive because of being on Schindler’s list. He is alone and chronically forlorn when they meet. But the young girl’s sincere respect for his suffering, and her heavenly violin playing, have a salutory effect.
