When reading a Chinese book have you ever had the wish to be able to look up words quickly and easily? Now it’s possible with iPad and Kindle App with built-in dictionary!
Her’s the step by step guide to do it.
1. Download Kindle app for your iPad, it’s free
2. Buy or download a Chinese Kindle book.
Kindle books on Amazon.cn are cheap, but remember that you can’t have books from two countries in the same Kindle. You can get around this by buying Kindle books from Taobao if you are familiar with it and have a Chinese bank account.

3. Start reading and when you see a character or word you don’t know, tap it. A pop-up window will open below and lets you download the dictionary.
4. When the dictionary is downloaded, for free, you can tap any word to check its meaning.
5. By clicking the i-icon on the right corner of the pop-up window you can set the default dictionary. For intermediate learners go for Chinese-English and advanced learners can choose Chinese-Chinese.
6. Click Full Definition for even more information about the word.
7. In Kindle app you can also high light words and sentences really easily. You can also add small notes. It’s an excellent study tool!
