I’ve heard so many comments like yours before I bought my kindle, and honestly I have no idea what are you all complaining about. It does read pdf, and it reads it pretty well. As a matter a fact, I am using my German book on kindle, and not only the cover is in color, but the entire book and I had no problems opening it. For the rest of the books, maybe you should try converting it to the kindle (mobi) format via calibre.

I have KINDLE and honestly it’s not good at all. It doesn’t read PDF that has a color cover, the audio will not speed when asked to advance, the characters are too small if u do not buy from the store… What I’m I saying… IT’S CRAP! Like.

I have a nook color and an aluratek. I bought the aluratek and the nook color was a gift. I still use the aluratek. The nook is a burdensome POS! What a pain! Loading any epub is difficult and I have still been unsuccessful. My laptop only intermittently recognizes the nook but only by drive letter – not name. The Aluratek accepted files the first time I connected it. Save the planet – recycle nooks, or better yet, quit making them.
