We are making a concerted effort to reduce those steady expenses that quickly add up, like books, especially books on the kindle. Most books we buy are only $10 but this can easily become a decent amount over a year or even some months.
Obviously, the library has a huge collection and we have one branch only five hundred metres away and another branch quite literally at my work. But before I get all carried away with raiding the library, I have quite a backlog here at home. I have twelve issues of The New Yorker on my kindle, seven mostly unread books also on my kindle, and six books in the Songs of Fire and Ice series.
Given that I don’t have massive amounts of time for reading, I figure that it could take me two years to get through this collection. All in all, it’s a pretty enviable situation.
