Amazon has announced that it has started taking pre-order for the Kindle Fire HD and the Kindle Fire HD 8.9 in over 170 countries across the globe. Recently we have reported that Amazon Appstore for Android available in nearly 200 countries and soon thereafter the US-based concern officially announced the news of the pre-order for the latest tablets under ‘Kindle’ lineup. According to the concern, shipping of the pre-ordered Kindle Fire HD tablets will start from June 13.
Amazon Kindle Fire HD coming to over 170 countries
On starting the pre-order process for the Kindle Fire HD tablets in over 170 countries, Dave Limp, Vice President, Amazon Kindle said;

Not only does Kindle Fire feature advanced hardware, it’s also a service. Consumers can now pre-order the Kindle Fire HD and the Kindle Fire HD 8.9 by visiting the Amazon webpage. However, the list of countries on the webpage also includes India as well but we have confirmed that the pre-order process is not yet available for the Indian region at the time of writing this news report. In the US region, the Kindle Fire HD is available for pre-order at a price tag of $214 while the Kindle Fire HD 8.9 is priced at $284.
Amazon unveiled the Kindle Fire HD and the Kindle Fire HD 8.9 to earn more sales from small tablets segment and the tablets are already giving a tough competition to Apple iPad mini and Google Nexus 7 in the US region. The Kindle Fire HD has a 7-inch HD LCD display and it is powered by a Texas Instruments OMAP4460 chipset with dual-core 1.2GHz processing unit, 1GB of RAM and 16GB or 32GB storage options. The Kindle Fire HD 8.9 has an 8.9-inch full-HD LCD display and it is powered by a TI OMAP4470 chipset with 1.5GHz dual-core CPU, 1GB of RAM and 16GB or 32GB storage options. Both the tablets are running on tailored Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) operating system.
