Time for another edition of the Friday Blogging Experience (formerly the Friday Blogging Experiment), where I go off the beaten path, take myself a little less seriously, and have a little fun. This is a participatory experience, so feel free to join in!
Ladies, would you trust your hair care to this little 98-cent device?
I give you Sta-Neet: one of oddest inventions, dating back to the 1940′s. Yes, there are a lot of odd inventions out there, and this one happens to reside in my home, on display. I don’t much about this except that I think it came from my parents or grandparents, though (thankfully) it doesn’t look as if it had ever been used.
A simple comb with a razor blade attached will apparently give the “entire family a complete HAIRCUT at home.” Go figure. And in its day, they claim it would save you $50 to $100 a year (and pays for itself the first time you use it!).
And I admit, I’ve been tempted to try it. Though I’m pretty sure it would be a complete disaster. Even on my rather unruly hair. Then again, for the right amount of money, perhaps I COULD be convinced to use this to cut my hair. On video. Any takers?
So now it’s your turn. Do you have any odd inventions (old or new) that you have somewhere in your home? Or were there any you had growing up? There are plenty of websites with lists of interesting inventions, past and present, so what’s the oddest thing you’ve seen?
