As the year is coming to an end, I want to take some time out and take a look back at an eventful year. A lot of highs and lows but at the end of all we look for all the good things that happened. There are some great gadgets that came out in 2012; it would be hard to pick a top 10 but here are some of the gadgets that according to me made waves in the market. Let’s have a look at each of them.
iPhone 5
Who can forget about the monster of iPhone 5? Before it was launched and after its launch there has been a craze for the new iPhone 5. The new iPhone 5 is with 4G facility, a bigger screen but the phone is slimmer in size. It is loaded with 2 cameras and also comes with retina display which gives you a great view of videos and images. It has a longer battery life than its predecessors.
HTC One Series Smartphones
The HTC Series One phone debuted later this year on the Android platform. It comes with a 1.5 GHz Quad Core Tegra 3 processor and a cool 8MP camera along with the new Image Sense and Image chip facility. It also has storage of 32GB, the best part is the camera which comes with autofocus and it has a new feature called Videopic. If you get an HTC One series phone you will also get 25GB free storage for Dropbox.
iPad Mini
The first thing is that the screen size is smaller than that of the normal iPad. The iPad Mini screen size is 7.9 inches which is smaller than the 9.7 of the normal iPad. It comes with the latest iOS 6.0.1 and comes with pretty much all the features of the normal iPad including Siri. It is also equipped with a 5MP camera and a Lightening connector.
Kindle Fire HD
The new Kindle Fire HD offers great value for money. It has a 7 inch HD display and it comes with a 1.2GHz Dual core processor. The user experience is pretty much different from all the other tablets. There is another version of Kindle Fire which comes with 4G. Overall it is a great device and if you use Kindle you would want to use this.
Samsung Galaxy Note 2
After the success of Galaxy Note, the all new Galaxy Note 2 lives up to the hype. It comes with a 1.6 GHz Quad Core processor with the new Jellybean platform of Android. It also supports 4G network and is loaded with the S Pen optimized features. It has popup video, popup note and air view features. Just like the iPhone 5 it is also loaded with 2 cameras, one that of 8MP and another 1.9MP camera. This was a huge rival to the rival to the iPhone 5.
MacBook Air
It is lighter than all the other MacBook; it has created quite an uproar in the market. It is equipped with some great features like the other MacBook, if you are looking for a lighter and slimmer MacBook then go for Air, it is one of the best in its league.
Google Nexus 7 Tablet
Google launched the 7inch screen Nexus 7 which is loaded with some great features and a rock bottom price. Again this is also a Quad core processor; it is a great device which is developed by Asus for Google. There are many companies who have tied up to develop tablets and so Google has also tied up with Asus. The Nexus 7 is considered as a rival to iPad Mini.
Nokia Lumia 900
The Lumia series by Nokia has really made its mark in the market especially in the Asian market. Nokia has tied up with Windows to develop the Lumia series. It is loaded with the Windows 7.5 Mango version with a 1.4 GHz Qualcomm processor and an 8MP camera.
Microsoft Surface Tablet
Microsoft Surface with Windows 8 created a lot of buzz for itself and it also lived up to its expectations. There are actually many new features namely the Home Screen, a Modern UI, Windows Store, Connect to Cloud etc. and a lot more.
Galaxy S3 Mini
2012 has been a year of lots of mini devices and here is another one. The S3 Mini is a smaller version of Galaxy S3 but just like the S3 this phone also lives up to its expectations without killing on a lot of features.
