Kindle Fire Vs Surface RT | Kindle DRM Removal

This year’s tablet market is much fiercer than ever, with the Kindle Fire HD, Google’s Nexus 7, iPad mini and iPad 4’ entrance. Now the Surface RT’s emergence makes the tablet much fiercer.

Last Saturday, the market research firm IHS iSuppli announced the teardown report of Apple’s iPad mini. Recently, it is reported that the market research firm iSuppli also published the teardown reports of Kindle Fire HD and Surface RT. According to this report, the cost price of 32GB Wi-Fi Surface’s components is $271, and the Surface RT is sold at $499, while the cost price of Kindle Fire HD is $165, and the Kindle Fire HD is sold at $199.

The report showed that the cost price of only 32GB Wi-Fi Surface RT (without Touch Cover), which is sold at $499, is $271. The cost price of Touch Cover is only $16, whose single price is $120. The core parts of Surface RT: Tegra 3 processor of Nvidia, the display, memory chips and battery supplied by Samsung Electronics. And the cost price of components supplied by Samsung Electronics has counted up to $137, which is nearly half of the total cost price of Surface RT.

As for Kindle Fire HD, the teardown report of iSuppli showed that the cost price of Kindle Fire HD’s components is $165, whose price is $199. The Kindle Fire HD’s major components’ suppliers are LG Display, which supplied the displays, Texas Instruments, which provided the processors, power supply, and video chips, and Samsung Electronics, which offered the memory chips. And the cost price of first generation Kindle Fire’s components was $202, which was sold at $199 and cut down to $187 later. It is obvious that the Amazon has sold the Kindle Fire at the cost price or less than cost price. Of course, the Amazon would not do the business of money loss. They just want to gain profit when consumers use their products. They hope the consumers would consume contents in the Amazon’s digital store, and shop in the Amazon’s retails. In the beginning of this year, there was a report showed that the Amazon had earned more than one hundred dollars through each sold Kindle Fire.

The Kindle Fire HD is really a product with high quality and low price.
