So why did Amazon speed up the shipping of the Wi-Fi Kindle Fire HD? Amazon Vice President Dave Limp said in a statement that they want to get a jump in the holiday sales. An earlier sales date will indeed give them an edge over the competition, especially now that there are so many of them.
To those who have forgotten, the Kindle Fire HD 8.9 has an 8.9-inch display with 1920 x 1200-pixel resolution, TI OMAP 4470 processor, front-facing HD camera, dual stereo speakers with Dolby Digital Plus and 10 hours of battery life.
