Originally slated for November 20th arrival, Amazon’s Kindle Fire HD 8.9 tablet is to start shipping tomorrow if you’ve ordered one at Best Buy. Sadly, Amazon won’t start shipping its new tablet from its own store until December 3rd, so the most reasonable option to go for it the mentioned retailer.
Apart from Best Buy, Staples and Radioschack said they would start shipping 8.9″ Kindle Fire HDs in the coming weeks. As a reminder, the Kindle Fire slate we’re talking about sports a 1920 x 1200 display, which means there’s pixel density of 254 ppi. Not bad, especially when we learn more about Amazon’s content that can be downloaded onto the device and enjoyed on that high resolution display. Other than that, there’s up to 32 GB of internal storage, optional 4G support and dual-band MIMO technology.
If you’re not yet familiar with the prices, you can get the Kindle Fire HD 8.9 for $299 or $499, depending on your pick – 16 GB or 32 GB model.
