I have been staring for months now at my old Kindle 2, which has made the rounds of my family and been returned to me, my parents preferring paper books. So that leaves me with this perfectly good device, which I loved to pieces (and which I still love in some ways… that keyboard is so handy!). And it’s not getting used, and that’s just a sad thing. As fancy and newfangled as it is, it’s still… well, a book. Or the potential for many, many books. Books should be read!
I know some of you don’t have an e-reader and would like one, so I am going to do a drawing for my old Kindle 2. If you’d like to be entered, just wave a hand and I’ll assign you a number, and next Friday I’ll draw that number and send it along.
It’s not in perfect condition: there’s a little mark in the screen about the size of a letter where I dropped it (you can just see it if you enlarge that picture, to the right of the battery image). And it doesn’t have the cable (you can get those for $3-6, looks like?). You would have to buy the cable to charge it. But I’ll send along my protective cover, which I seem to recall being $20 at the time. (Let’s not talk about how much I paid for the device itself, compared to how cheap modern kindles are… >.> ) I’ll even sign the cover if you like! And depending on my whim, I might throw some free fiction on it. :)
Anyway, if you’re interested, raise your hand! I love this thing, it gave me hours and hours of great happiness. I want to pass it on! :)
