Now we tell stories digitally on the web, and curiously enough, even as ‘tweets’.
Modeled on the pre-code EC Comics, “Two-Fisted Tweets” greets us with an amazingly nostalgic cover, also by Mr. Hutchings, that would be great wallpaper for anyone’s computer. There are forty tidbit stories crisscrossing some of our favorite genres: Horror, Romance a/k/a Sex, and Science Fiction.
This is a quick read, but a memorable one. While some of the stories are pedestrian, many more are clever and down-right good. This is a great read for the train, your lunch hour, or even out loud. Just because these are written using an economy of words, you won’t feel short changed by these stories.
I have thought about, but will not open a Twitter account: partially because I am a dinosaur, partially because I have nothing profound to say on a day to day basis, and partially because I am afraid my verbal reactions could get me into more trouble than I already can without tweeting. That said, you won’t be in trouble with “Two-Fisted Tweets”.
