In a corporate memo shared with Zapping The RAM, Walmart Stores has decided to stop selling all Amazon products, including the Kindle and Kindle Fire series. In the memo, Walmart says that the decision to do so is “consistent with current merchandising strategies”.

This decision comes in the wake of the announcement by Amazon of the refresh to its Kindle and Kindle Fire e-reader series, and comes almost four months after retailer Target decided to make the same merchandising decision. Not much is known about the effect this decision will make on the retail giant’s e-reader and tablet sales, but what is known is that Walmart has been in the process of adding more tablets to its lineup in recent months, in order to compete with other electronics retailers.
