- Kindle Fire HD Now Accounts for More than 10 Percent of Kindle Traffic
Posted on Friday, September 28th, 2012 at 3:59 pm.
The Kindle Fire HD has been available to the world for less than two weeks, but if the recent numbers surrounding the data of those using Kindle Fire HD devices are true, this new Kindle Fire is well on its way to becoming a tremendous success for Kindle.
The reason? New numbers are indicating that more than 10 percent of Kindle Web traffic is already stemming from Kindle Fire HD devices. This means that people are obviously purchasing this new device and are using it to browse the Web.
Perhaps this is not too big of a surprise. After all, the original Kindle Fire was the second-most popular tablet for a long time until it was supplanted recently by the Google Nexus 7. It is now looking like Amazon is looking to wedge itself back into that number two slot.
Perhaps Amazon – at least publicly – is saying that it wants to be the top tablet manufacturer, but the chances of the Kindle Fire HD overtaking the iPad are slim. These chances become even slimmer when you take into consideration that it still seems likely that Apple will release some sort of an iPad Mini that presumably will retail for much less than the larger iPad.
When looking at the bigger picture, you will see that although the Amazon Kindle Fire HD is making strides, it is still much less used than the original Amazon Kindle Fire. The Kindle Fire HD accounts for less than 4 percent of all tablet Web traffic, according to a recent study.
The original Amazon Kindle Fire, on the other hand, accounts for nearly 28 percent of tablet Web traffic. It would seem as if the Kindle Fire HD will surpass the original Kindle Fire, but it may take some time to reach this point.
